4 Months

Harper turned four months this past Saturday. She is now up to 15 lbs, 5 ozs. and 25.5 inches long. It is incredible to think in four months, she has grown 5 inches and more than doubled her body weight. She will get her first taste of solid food in the next few weeks.

Speaking of eating, we are looking forward to a quiet Thanksgiving in our new house. Since we are back in the northeast, moving the Sunday before Turkey Day, and traveling the skies with our new addition still presents itself as a daunting task in my eyes (saving that one for Christmas in Alabama...), we will not be traveling to join family for the holiday. While we would love to be with our loved ones for Harper's first Thanksgiving, we will enjoy getting settled in to our new house and putting some of those pots and pans that have been in storage to good use. After six months of transitional living and no dining room table, I look forward to getting in touch with my inner domestic goddess (thanks, Nigella)! And if Scot gets around to it with everything else going on, there will be a turkey deep frying in our backyard by the time the sun comes up next Thursday...Some southern traditions have to remain.

In other Harper news, she has grown quite a bit of hair in the past weeks and now has this adorable patch of thick, fluffy hair that stands on top of her head and has the tiniest bit of curl. We love it! She now insists on being on her belly 99% of the time and rolls onto her stomach in one swift movement, assuming the baby "mini push up" as we like to call it. She is still sleeping well at night. Night before last she went to bed with her head at one end of the crib and by morning her head was at the opposite end! Not sure how that happened! This is not a picture laden post...hope to get some more pictures posted soon.
